Charming hand-coloured 18th century moth illustrations found in EJC Esper's 'Die Schmetterlinge in Abbildungen nach der Natur' [vol. 4] from 1786, sourced from the University of Heidelberg. [some background]
Alternatively, the Biodiversity Library appears to have the full[?] series available.
See an earlier EJC Esper post -- The Coral Book -- for more general background and links.

It would be interesting to see how these engravings translate to textile prints.
These engravings are very reminiscent of my family. My mother is a fan of antiques and victorian style decorating and she always added embellishments such as these to give the room that extra glow. These are lovely. Do you happen to do any engraving of your own as well?
Bienvenidos!
wow. I love bird prints, I might just get into moths too.
This is an amazing site. Just came across it today. Gorgeous work!
