These are incredible! Did you compile this group just for Bibliodyssey, or is there and actual "Calligraphy Exhibition" going on somewhere. I'm also intrigued by comparing the lettering styles of so many different cultures.

Yes, there is an actual exhibition going on but no, it's nothing to do with me.

September 16-21, 2008
MVK International Exhibition Company has launched a new socially important project, International Calligraphic Exhibition. The aim of the project is to form a beautiful and healthy society through the art of calligraphy.
Venue: St.Petersburg State academic institute of painting, sculpture and architecture n.a. I.E. Repin of the Russian Academy of Arts.
Organizers: the National Union of Calligraphers and MVK Exhibition Company [LINK]

I like the idea of "a beautiful and healthy society through the art of calligraphy." After all, our physical activities have their effect on the brain...

SUCH beautiful calligraphy work shown here! I'm having a hard time deciding on a favorite! Wish I could see the entire exhibit in person... thank you for sharing this with us!
