Granted I'm responding to something from a year and a half ago, but I can't let your readers get the idea that interwar Czechoslovakia was stultifying or oppressive. It's generally considered to have been the opposite. (Not that some people didn't feel stultified and oppressed, just as is the case anywhere.)

Nice post, sometimes I overlook what I may consider "childrens art", these book covers and pictures are cute in an odd way.

Yeah. I like creepy. Also 20s & 30s in Czech Republic must have been a bit stultifying and opressive so the art reflects that.
